SafeSwap Inspection Policy — v1 (DRAFT — pending review)
_SafeSwap by SBS. Baseline V1 inspection policy. The hash of this file is recorded in ss_terms_versions. Sellers accept this policy when they create a seller profile._
1. Why we inspect
Every item is checked by a SafeSwap driver at pickup against the approved listing. This is the core of buyer and seller protection: the inspection and its proof records decide disputes.
2. Standard inspection (clothing, sneakers)
- Brand, size, and condition confirmed against the listing.
- Stains, rips, smells, and defects checked and recorded.
- Zips, buttons, drawstrings, soles, and stitching checked.
- Pickup photos captured. Obvious counterfeit warning signs checked.
3. Premium inspection (iPhones)
- Model, storage, and colour confirmed.
- Screen, back glass, camera, and charging port checked.
- Battery health recorded where available.
- Face ID checked where possible.
- Activation Lock / iCloud must be clear. A locked or unknown device is not approved.
- Device identifier recorded as hash + last four only. Power-on proof captured.
4. Premium inspection (consoles)
- Model/generation and storage confirmed.
- Power-on and display test where possible.
- Controllers, cables, and listed games/accessories confirmed.
- Cosmetic condition and serial (hashed) recorded. Pickup photos captured.
5. Outcomes
- Pass: payment is captured and the item proceeds to delivery.
- Fail: the order is refunded and the item is returned; a security review may be opened.
- Needs review: an operator makes the final decision before the order proceeds.
6. Proof chain
Pickup photos, inspection results, GPS, seal/handover codes, delivery photos, and buyer acceptance are stored as append-only proof records and used to resolve any dispute.
7. Stolen or counterfeit goods
Suspected stolen or counterfeit items are held, not delivered, and may be reported to An Garda Síochána. The seller is not paid for items that fail for these reasons.
